Nassal completed shop fabrication drawings, along with the full fabrication and installation of all themed elements and signage throughout the Georgia Aquarium. Our scope included more than 21,000 square feet of scenic rockwork in the iconic Ocean Voyager Gallery—home to the world’s largest indoor fish tank at 6.2 million gallons and its most famous resident, the whale shark.
Additional work included the rockwork renovation of the small-clawed otter exhibit in the Freshwater Gallery and all scenic theming for Georgia Explorer, a hands-on, family-focused gallery featuring touch tanks and interactive elements inspired by the Georgia coastline.
At over 8 million gallons and 550,000 square feet, the Georgia Aquarium is the largest in the world, housing more than 100,000 fish and welcoming 3.6 million visitors in its first year alone. Its awe-inspiring exhibits continue to entertain, educate and engage—earning it the 2006 TEA Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement.
