At Discovery Cove’s Grand Reef, guests are invited into a vibrant underwater world teeming with life, wonder and adventure. This immersive, multi-layered environment spans 2.5 acres and holds nearly one million gallons of water, offering guests the chance to snorkel alongside thousands of tropical fish, wade with stingrays, and come face to face with sharks, safely separated by a 21-foot-long underwater viewing window. Whether lounging in a hammock, exploring grottos or crossing over to white sand islands, the Grand Reef offers a truly unforgettable guest experience.

To help bring this aquatic paradise to life, Nassal completed all of the custom rockwork throughout the expansion. Our team sculpted and installed rock features that feel both natural and transportive, guiding guests along paths, across bridges and into the layered environments of the reef. Every element was carefully crafted to reflect the textures and tones of a real coastal reef system, integrating seamlessly with the surrounding water, vegetation and animal life.

In designing and building these elements, our focus was on creating a space that feels alive, where every bridge, handrail and coral pod contributes to the fluid, ever-changing nature of the environment. The removable coral pods offered a smart, flexible solution that supports ongoing animal care while maintaining the illusion of a continuous reef. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to balance beauty, durability and functionality, helping transform the Grand Reef into a space where discovery feels effortless and the environment tells the story.
